When it comes to skylights, metal roofing and industrial windows, my company is committed to doing it better, down to the very last detail. I’ve been working with these products for a lifetime. Now I want to work with you to create a home or business improvement that you can be proud of.

I'm Paul Mitoraj

The “j” is silent. I’ve lived in the Chicago area my entire life, and I’ve worked with metal for most of it. At the age of 19, I took a job with the Nelson family, working with architectural sheet metal.

I started by sweeping the floors, did the work, absorbed the mentoring for 20 years, and in 2010 I bought the company.

The Nelson family started their first company in 1931 and it has evolved into what you see today. My wife and I have four kids. I have eight brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Our family is all in the Chicago area. We’re not going anywhere, and will be here for you for years to come.

I’m a stickler.

Come visit our shop and the first person you’ll meet as you enter the door will be me. I sit in the reception area, because I’m picky. I want to know about everything that’s going on in my business.

We are lucky enough to have a big shop with great equipment. Drop in any day, and you’ll find it clean, freshly painted and in 100% working order. Nothing drives me nuts more than something not working, or not being where it’s supposed to be.

When we work on your home or business, the same attitude carries over. We know that you’re worried about what we’re going to do in, on and around your house or company. So, we start by covering our shoes, and sticking to our motto of “leave it cleaner than you found it”.

I can’t lie.

Whether it’s my childhood of Catholic schools and a military dad or just good sense, I can’t lie. Everyone in our organization is committed to doing things right, down to the last detail.

We’re not pushy. We know that you don’t have to buy a skylight from us, or that now might not be the right time. We can give you a presentation, but we’re not going to lie.

I’m not the only employee.

I employ great people that care about what they do.

Our installation teams are our own employees. We will never hire outside contractors, because I want to be in control of everything that’s happening in my business, and on your job site.

We work together year-round. When we’re not working on a job site, we’re working in the shop to prepare for the next season, training, and of course, keeping everything in working order and in it’s place.

Brad Mitchell

Project Manager

Brad has been in the construction industry for 24 years first as a Union Carpenter and the past 8 years as a Project Manager. He runs our commercial jobs and oversees them from survey to the end of construction.  Brad can be seen on site checking the progress and making sure our crew’s are up to speed.  Brad’s attention to detail is a huge asset to our operation because he sees things many people would miss and isn’t satisfied until it meets his very high standards.  He will give it to you straight and never try to sell you something you don’t want or need.

Ashlee Mitoraj

Office Manager

Ashlee is in charge of the day to day operations at NSS.  She does all the CAD drawings and CNC programming for our ACM panels. In addition, Ashlee is our Velux Skylight Specialist.

Kristine Mitchell

Project Coordinator

Kristine’s job is to make sure our projects get up and running, our crews have the materials they need and jobs are completed according to the timeline.  She provides contractors with weekly progress reports and keeps our website up to date. Kristine is also in charge of safety at NSS and takes that role very seriously.
